We at Geek Crusade do so love our cross-universe casting. Following in the footsteps of former Batman Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming, former Lex Luthor Michael Rosenbaum has also signed on to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a secret role in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.
Rosenbaum, who played a young Luthor on Smaillvile (2001-11), was originally on the short list of actors in contention for the role of Star-Lord before losing out to Chris Pratt. But according to director James Gunn, the 44-year-old will now have a key role in Guardians 2.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Adam Carolla Show, Gunn revealed that the movie has “a couple of characters who are very important to the Marvel Universe” that will officially debut in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. He added that Rosenbaum will have a “pretty decent role” alongside Sylvester Stallone.
Whoever Rosenbaum ends up playing, you can be sure it’ll be loads of fun.
