This week, we look back at The Flash episode Enter Zoom and Arrow episode Lost Souls.
As usual… Spoilers
1Hello mama Smoak
Donna Smoak (Charlotte Ross) is back! Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickard’s) slightly not-as-smart mom made an appearance in Star City because Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) clearly wanted to earn some serious brownie points.
Besides setting up a late night drink with Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), the addition of mama Smoak adds another candidate for the “whose grave is that anyway” game we’re gonna be playing until most of the season is over.
I still don’t think it’ll be Felicity who kicks the bucket, because that’s too obvious. And Thea needs to deal with her issues. Not to mention whoever it is needs to have close ties to both Oliver and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).
My best guess was that it was Quentin… but now perhaps it’s gonna be mama Smoak after all. Especially since Olicity is getting a bit too lovey dovey.
While the older Smoak has not had a chance to meet Barry just yet, that might all change with the crossover episodes coming up soon.
2Dr Light is out there
In what was the most obvious how she’s going to escape hint ever, Earth-Two Linda Park (Malese Jow) has gotten the better of Cisco and made it out into the wilds after turning herself invisible.
That being said, Earth-Prime Park seems to have gotten the hang of shooting slightly painful zappy stuff… But I wouldn’t rule out Earth-Two Park making an appearance further down the road.
She’s a heroine in the comics, after all!
I’m still a little annoyed that the first thing Park-Prime had to say upon finding out Barry was the Flash was “I’ve made out with the Flash”, because it seriously sounds like one of Cisco’s (Carlos Valdes) poorly-written script lines.
3See you soon, Sara! Welcome back Ray!
It’s probably no surprise the already-announced not-Avengers lineup for Legends of Tomorrow is being hastily assembled, given that we’re not that far away from the premiere and we’re already familiar with their backstories.
Much like the new Firestorm, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) lasted a short while upon her return to Arrow before wandering off into whatever they use for superhero storage.
On the other hand, former Superman and current Atom Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) has gotten out of his tiny problem, though he’s inadvertently made Felicity a target for H.I.V.E. Still don’t think she’s the one in that grave, though.
I’m guessing Ray and Hawkgirl Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée) drew the longer sticks and get to stick around for a while more to to build up to Legends. Sorry, White Canary and Firestorm. See you in a few months!
4 Barry can travel through time, but isn’t fast enough
A key motivation of Harrison Wellsobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) throughout season 1 of The Flash was getting Barry fast enough to create a wormhole so he could go back to his own time. Which he eventually managed.
Surprisingly, despite being that bloody fast, Barry still lost to Zoom. Which means if Zoom is that fast, he certainly could have travelled through time for whatever purpose he’s set out for himself. So has he?
Does that give any clues to Zoom’s identity? Some people have guessed that he was really Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), but it does seem unlikely since we’ve the both of them battling out in flashback scenes.
At this time, it also seems safe to guess Earth-Two Harry really wants to get his daughter back and doesn’t like Zoom at all… but with the most recent failure, a desperate father could do a lot of stupid things…
5Oliver still has Constantine’s tattoos
Remember the Chinese tattoos which translate to ginger roast pig or something?
Well, Oliver still has them.
When making up to Felicity for inviting her mom over and probably trying to get too many brownie points, we see that the Green Arrow still has the charm Constantine placed on him in a flashback last week.
Does that mean Flashback Oliver doesn’t need the spell, or something messes up back on Lian-Yu?
Or is Constantine’s spell a multiple-use one, which might come in handy against Damien Darhk and H.I.V.E. later on?
So many questions, but we’ll only get answers when each episode airs, so check back with us again next week!
