It’s only been a couple of weeks since the release of the restricted trailer for David Leitch’s new project Atomic Blonde, but we just can’t get enough of Charlize Theron kicking ass. A newly released trailer sheds a bit more light on enigmatic MI6 spy Lorraine Broughton (Theron, who was so good in Max Max: Fury Road), but it’s apparent that Atomic Blonde has all the hallmarks of a good spy movie.

Based on the graphic novel The Coldest City by Antony Johnson, Atomic Blonde sees Lorraine Broughton travelling to Berlin on a mission to bring down an espionage ring. Joined by Berlin station chief David Percival (James McAvoy – Professor X no more?), Broughton soon realises that this mission is not all it seems.

We’ve got a spy who won’t listen to orders, exotic European operatives, a gruff sidekick, and a helluva lot of great action sequences. Just go and watch that balcony stunt and car fight again. Who knew a stiletto heel was that dangerous?

But my favourite part of it might be the music. The musical cues are nigh on perfect here, with heavy beats syncing up with punches, kicks and gunshots. And the heady mix of New Order and Depeche Mode (and…Kanye West?!) are a great way to set the scene.

Atomic Blonde is currently slated for release on July 28.
