Poor old Jamie Bell, who’s grown into a fine adult actor since the days of Billy Elliot, had the misfortune of being a part of the awful Fantastic Four reboot in 2015. But he’s now in a new project that looks awfully promising, and it’s based on true events too.

On April 30, 1980, six men stormed the Iranian embassy in Knightsbridge, London and took 26 people hostage. 6 Days tells the story of the crisis from the perspective of Special Air Service soldier Rusty Firmin (Bell), hostage negotiator Max Vernon (Mark Strong, who’s also in the Kingsman sequel) and journalist Kate Adie (Abbie Cornish).

It’s unclear just how big a role Bell plays in proceedings, but it all looks terribly taut and tense, and very British too. This should be very good, especially since the real-life Fermin served as technical advisor on the movie.

6 Days opens in the UK on August 4 and does not have a Singapore release date yet.
