Dinner is Coming: Welcome to King’s Landing – The Sequel, May 5, 2014

[alert-announce] This dinner is now over. Check out what happened at our first Game of Thrones dinner.

This evening they had supped on oxtail soup, summer greens tossed with pecans, grapes, red fennel, and crumbled cheese, hot crab pie, spiced squash, and quails drowned in butter. Lord Janos allowed that he had never eaten half so well. ~ A Clash of Kings
Have you ever read or watched Game of Thrones, and found yourself wishing you could pull up a chair and join the feast? In celebration of season 4, Geek Crusade invites you to spend a night dining on the finest cuisine Westeros has to offer.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

[toggle title=”How is this a Game of Thrones-inspired dinner?“]In the GOT books, there are rich, detailed descriptions of the different cuisines from the Seven Kingdoms. At our dinner, each of the dishes is inspired by specific lines from the books. For example, almond crusted trout comes from A Storm of Swords – “…while the wedding guests ate trout cooked in a crust of crushed almonds.”[/toggle] [toggle title=”Do I need to be a Game of Thrones fanatic to attend this dinner? I don’t know much about the show or the books.“]You don’t need to be a GOT fanatic – you just need to appreciate good food, and a good conversation over a nice meal. As each course is served, our chef will explain the inspiration behind the dish, and how it was made. After all, Chef Osvaldo is renowned for the quality of his food, and the freshness of his ingredients. [/toggle] [toggle title=”Must I dress up?“]You don’t have, but if you feel a burning desire to turn up as King in the North, we certainly won’t stop you![/toggle] [toggle title=”Will the wine be poisoned and the entire dinner party murdered?“]Of course not! Though you should know that we will be shutting the doors behind you, and the Rains of Castamere will play at a moment’s notice. And if you’re from the North, well, you had better bring some good steel….[/toggle] [toggle title=”I’m coming as the mother of dragons, can I bring my dragons?“]Of course. No Menu is a dragon friendly restaurant. Torching of food is allowed. [/toggle] [toggle title=”What are your upcoming Dinner is Coming events?“] We created our Dinner is Coming series of pop-culture events to connect fans, fandoms and food. Connect with us, and a raven will be sent to inform you of our upcoming events.
