At first glance, Terminator: Genisys might seem to have nothing in common with Game of Thrones (besides a certain Mother of Dragons).

But they have a lot more in common than you think. Here’s the interconnected web of Terminator: Genisys and Game of Thrones.

1. The Queens from Game of Thrones both played Sarah Connor

Emilia Clarke’s Mother of Dragons and Lena Headey’s power hungry former Queen of Westeros are two distinct characters in Game of Thrones.

But these two actresses have both played Sarah Connor, another prominent mother, in the Terminator franchise.

Clarke plays the latest iteration of Connor in the upcoming Terminator: Genisys.

But she was preceded by Headey’s ass-kicking Sarah Connor in the 2008 Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles television series.

2. Khal Drogo and The Terminator both played Conan the Barbarian

In 2011, Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, starred as Conan in Conan the Barbarian.

This movie was a reboot of the 1982 film Conan the Barbarian, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan.

In 1984, Schwarzengger went on to star in The Terminator, which spawned a new franchise.
