So Jurassic World (see our review) was kinda awesome, yes? The rest of the world agrees too, given that it’s just scored the biggest global box office opening weekend ever, with a whopping US$511 million.

And if you rather liked Chris Pratt as alpha male dino whisperer Star-Lord Stormborn Owen Grady, he’s going to be around for quite a while more:

“I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something.”

It makes sense for Universal Pictures to have signed Pratt for a multi-picture deal, given his newfound leading man status, before he gets too expensive.

In any case, Pratt’s certainly well qualified to lead the Jurassic franchise, given that he’s been a fan since childhood:

“When we pick up on our movie, it’s not this exciting park that no one can believe. I just liked the idea that the park is open and also attendance is falling off. In this world, dinosaurs have been around for 20 years. So no one thinks they’re fascinating anymore. Kids are bored with them. Instead of being mesmerized by a T. rex, they’re at the park and they’re looking at their iPhones.”
