You’ve seen him as blind lawyer Matt Murdock – now here’s your first look at Charlie Cox in what Marvel calls Daredevil’s “first costume”.
It’s clearly inspired by the John Romita Jr design from the Daredevil: The Man Without Fear comic mini-series, which was written by Frank Miller. Presumably, it’ll evolve into DD’s classic yellow and black design, and then red. Though you have to wonder how Cox/his stunt double is gonna be able to see anything.
The photo was released at the end of New York Comic Con, where a signing session by the Daredevil TV series cast was cancelled as the crowd got too rowdy, according to Bleeding Cool.
Meanwhile, Rosario Dawson‘s role has also been revealed, and it’s not Elektra. She’ll be playing Claire Temple, an obscure character from the 1970s who was a doctor and Luke Cage’s love interest. Hmms.
According to Comics Alliance, the Daredevil panelists at NYCC were keen to stress that the show will be very grounded in reality, though it is set in the same world as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And when asked about a possible crossover with Agents of SHIELD, Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb reminded the audience, “It’s all connected, man.” Ooh.
The 13-episode Daredevil TV show hits us in 2015. In the meantime, here’s another new photo of Cox that Marvel has released, and you can check out the rest of our Daredevil coverage here.
