Action stations, action stations. Set condition one throughout the ship. This is not a drill. Admiral Adama is coming to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Yep, you read that right. Battlestar Galactica’s Edward James Olmos is set to join the ABC superspy drama as Robert Gonzales in March, a role which “will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team”.
The show had its mid-season finale in December, which saw Skye (Chloe Bennet) finally confront her roots as the not-a-mutant-but-Inhuman Daisy Johnson/Quake after a bit of a run in with some Terrigen Mist. Fans of the comics will know Daisy’s impact all too well, though it remains to be seen how this will unfold in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Olmos’ Robert Gonzales may not have a comic book history, but the way Marvel toyed with Skye’s origin and hid a recognisable character under the mask of an unknown one is a sign that we won’t really know for sure until the series returns. So say we all!
While he’s obviously no Model 8, it’s always nice to see a Battlestar Galactica alum back on the screen and in a big franchise. Though I’m sure there’s another Galactica star some people want to see in a certain (Captain) Marvel role…
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on March 3.
What do you think Edward James Olmos’ Robert Gonzales will be like in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
