Okay ladies, now let’s get in formation. © Warner Bros

It’s been 16 years since the Ocean’s Eleven remake starring George Clooney and Matt Damon hit the screens and reintroduced the great heist genre to audiences, but I’ve always wondered if there was another casino caper that Danny Ocean could pull off.

Enter Ocean’s Eight, which — unlike the all-female Ghostbusters movie — is NOT a remake, but a spin-off that looks to revitalise the beloved franchise. And now we’ve got a first look at our gang of ladies.

From left to right, there’s Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean (sister of Danny Ocean), Cate Blanchett as Lou, Rihanna as Nine Ball, Minday Kaling as Amita, rapper Awkwafina as Constance, Helena Bonham Carter as Rose, Anne Hathaway as Daphne Kluger and Sarah Paulson as Tammy.

Okay seriously, my heart started racing just listing the cast, because these are some of the best actresses in Hollywood today (well, maybe not Rihanna) and I am crazy excited for this movie already! Directed by Gary Ross, Ocean’s Eight also has James Corden, Richard Armitage and Damian Lewis in its cast.

Warner Bros hasn’t released much info about Ocean’s Eight, but we do know that the heist involves the Met Gala. I’m expecting an intricate plot, hiding behind statues in the Met, a cool soundtrack and some killer wardrobe.

Sadly, we’ll have to wait until June of 2018 (NEXT YEAR WTF) to see it. In the meantime, I’ll just keep listening to Debussy and pretending that I’m in Vegas watching the water fountains.
