With Spider-Man: Homecoming opening to rave reviews, 21-year-old Tom Holland is assured of a long future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And Holland has just revealed the number of MCU movies he’s signed up for.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Holland says that he’s up for three Spider-Man solo movies and three appearances as the web slinger in other MCU films. Which is somewhat surprising considering that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently said that Spider-Man has a five-movie arc in the MCU

“They give you options and those could be exercised whenever. Like a cameo in Avengers. I’m unclear as to which movies though. I do know I have three Spider-Man [appearances in other] movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They’re very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other.”

Did Holland inadvertently give away a planned sixth MCU appearance for Spidey? It’s quite possible that the sixth movie is just a possible option for Marvel and/or they haven’t  decided just what form it will take.

Spiderman: Homecoming is playing in Singapore theatres and in IMAX® 3D now.

  • So it’s 3 solo Spidey films and 3 other MCU films. Quite legit and sufficient to flesh out the character.

    • You have to wonder if he will be appearing in the Sony Spiderverse movies – nic

    • True. Correct me if I’m wrong, but as I recall, Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal mentioned that the Spideyverse is still part of the MCU, albeit in a ” different reality”, a la the Marvel Netflixverse.
