Hugh Jackman and co. tried their hardest, but just couldn’t find a way to make it happen. In a new interview with Collider, Jackman revealed that he had always wanted to wear Wolverine’s classic gold-and-blue duds from the comic – but couldn’t make it work.
“There were a couple of things I couldn’t work out how to do. Fans always say, ‘When are we gonna see you in the blue-and-yellow spandex? We’ve gotta see that shot!’ We tried a little bit in The Wolverine, it didn’t happen — on that plane at the end he opens up a box and there’s the suit, I think that ended up getting cut. So the suit was one thing but we just couldn’t work out how to do it, so if anyone can work that out, you go for it.
Logan director James Mangold addressed the issue back in February, saying that it was out of Wolverine’s character to wear such an eye-catching costume. But in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t really matter, especially since Logan (see our review) finally delivered the Wolverine movie we’ve all been waiting for.
Now, the real question is – if Hugh Jackman keeps his promise that Logan was his last outing as Wolverine, who will replace him?
