Hugh Jackman may have played Wolverine for the last time in Logan, but he’s still got plenty left inside the tank. The 48-year-old has just signed up for Ferrari, alongside Prometheus star Noomi Rapace, to be directed by action impresario Michael Mann.
Jackman and Rapace are set to take on the roles of Enzo Ferrari, the Italian motor racing giant, and his wife Linda. Set in 1957, Enzo takes in Ferrari’s battle against his great rivals Maserati as well his volatile relationship with Linda. It’s been developed by Mann for decades.
Strangely enough, Jackman becomes the second superhero actor to play a giant of Formula One after Chris Hemsworth played James Hunt in Rush – and he replaces former Batman Christian Bale, who dropped out of the project. Jackman will reportedly have to put on a fair bit of weight to play the role of a millionaire who loved good food.
