For a time it looked like Peter Capaldi’s Doctor would need a new companion in his travels after the Doctor Who Christmas special, but it seems like the ever-lovely Jenna Coleman has changed her mind about that.

At least, that’s the latest news if you believe the Mirror. The British paper claims a source says Jenna has decided to extend her stay as Clara Oswald to the first half of the next season, and that the staff had to scrap the first set of new scripts because of her decision.

“In the original draft of the script, she became an old woman who then died with the Doctor at her side. But after they were rewritten, she will now be seen returning to the Tardis, hand in hand with the Doctor,” the source says.

Now most of you will know I’ve had mixed feelings about Clara’s character all season, with her seemingly undecided on who and what she wanted to be. While the season finale didn’t really answer that question, we do know that she and the Doctor have some confessions to make to each other (they both lied to make the other feel better about leaving).

Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally fine with her staying, though, as long as the writers don’t flip flop on her character so much. Since she is lovely, and Danny Pink (Samuel Anderson) is dead.

Hopefully Pink stays dead. Then all will be right with the world. Universe. Indeed, all of time and space.
