She’s the obvious choice and has already been working on a script for Wonder Woman 2. But it still took a while for Warners to make it official: Patty Jenkins has signed on the dotted line to helm the Wonder Woman (see our review) sequel.
While Jenkins was always in the frame to return for the sequel, reports suggested that her contract had been a sticking point.
Citing sources, Variety reports that Jenkins is being paid somewhere in the US$8 million region to write, direct and produce the movie. This would make her the highest paid female director of all time.
Even more importantly: a substantial backend of box office grosses is included in the contract. This means that Jenkins will get a percentage of whatever Wonder Woman 2 makes at the box office.
