As we all know by now, there are two post-credits scenes in the highly enjoyable Thor: Ragnarok (see our review). But the first one in particular is of real interest to fanboys, especially its implications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

To refresh your memory: the survivors of Asgard, including Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), are on a spaceship headed for Earth, when they run into a giant spaceship, before the scene cuts off.

Our first thought was that it belonged to the cosmic villain Thanos (Josh Brolin), who’ll be the big bad of Avengers: Infinity War. And Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige confirmed it in his comments to TheWrap: “We call it the Sanctuary II.”

Sure enough, that’s the name of Thanos’ flagship. Which means the scene is a direct link to Infinity War, which will bring together at least 30 characters from the MCU.

It’s also worth noting that the IW trailer shown at D23 – which we had the privilege of seeing in the flesh – includes a scene where the Guardians of the Galaxy rescue Thor from space. Which suggests a showdown between Thanos and the Asgardians…

What do you think of that Thor: Ragnarok post-credits scene? Tell us your thoughts!
