It’s only been a couple of months since Star Trek Beyond (see our review) was in cinemas, but from the looks of it, Simon Pegg may have already started on the script for the fourth movie in the Star Trek reboot.
Wait, but what’s making us think this is so? First of all, in the picture posted by Simon Pegg’s twitter account, Pegg is sitting next to Doug Jung, who not only co-wrote Star Trek Beyond with him, but also had a cameo in the movie as Sulu’s husband (YAAAAAS!).
Secondly, they’ve got a Bad Robot figurine next to them, which fans might be more familiar with as the mascot for JJ Abrams’s production company. Abrams has previously said that the role of Pavel Chekov won’t be recast after the tragic death of actor Anton Yelchin, and there’s already been confirmation that Chris Hemsworth will be back in Star Trek 4 as Captain Kirk’s father.
Despite the movie underperforming at the box office, Star Trek Beyond might’ve been my favourite of the new Trek movies, and I can’t wait to see what Pegg and co. have in store for the next installment in the franchise.
