To say that Warner Bros are lagging behind Marvel in their attempts to build a cohesive cinematic universe for their superheroes is kiiiiiind of an understatement. The big Superman/Batman film looks like a big step in the right direction, but  it looks like their TV universe might actually be having better luck.

The CW is expected to announce the introduction of The Flash in the second season of their  hit series Arrow, with an eye to spinning the speedster off into his own show. The Flash series will be developed by Arrow‘s co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, with DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns co-writing the pilot.

No word on whether it’ll be Barry Allen or Wally West under the scarlet mask, nor has there been anything mentioned about an actor for the lead role either. Either way, this could be another shot in the arm that the DC TV universe needs, after the planned Wonder Woman series, Amazon, was almost universally panned.

Me personally? I’m hoping that it’s as charming as that Flash TV series from the early 90s – but with a sliiiiiightly bigger budget.

Who do you think would make a good Flash? What other DC character would you like to see make the leap to the small screen?
