We take a look back at The Flash’s Gorilla Warfare and Arrow’s Brotherhood.

"I live. Fear me."
“Staying alive, staying alive.”

1Dig’s bro is alive

“Wake me up when September ends.”

It what is probably no surprise to anyone other than the people on Team Arrow, John Diggle’s (David Ramsey) brother Andy (Eugene Byrd) is still alive. And is now under H.I.V.E. Well, was, until Team Arrow “rescued” him and placed him in a cell.

There have been hints all along that Andy was around, especially this season, so question know would really be… how do you know when someone is dead in this show?! At this point, I wouldn’t even be surprised if they somehow brought some dead dead character back to life.

It’s a far cry from Arrow’s earlier seasons, where all this back from the dead nonsense simply involved Oliver Queen not having died on the Queen’s Gambit. And well, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), who has returned from the dead twice. It’s one thing to bring back key characters with major plot points… it’s another to reach Stargate’s Daniel Jackson level.

Let’s hope this thing with Andy is a bit more than just to give us emo conflicted Diggle.

2Gorilla City!

I’m sure half of us probably knew what was coming when Harry/Wells-Two (Tom Cavanagh) talked about a place for Grodd on his Earth.

Gorilla City, for those of you who don’t know, is inhabited by smart gorillas, and in the comics was Grodd’s home before he killed the king, got thrown out, and plans revenge. In short, Game of Thrones, but with giant apes.

We can’t say for certain what the Earth-Two version is like, since Grodd in the Arrowverse has a military experiment backstory, but we’re pretty certain he’s not gonna be nice, settle down, and have a family.

Of course, you can’t have all bad monkeys, so we might see some good gorilla counterparts in the near future.

I know we’ve covered this before, but with the Legends/The Flash/Arrow crossover coming next, it seems the producers just chose to remind us of Hawkgirl’s full, feathery glory.

Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée) literally got a chance to spread her wings in Cisco’s (Carlos Valdes) vision. That being said, with the latest Legends of Tomorrow trailer, it does seem that hawkman will make an appearance soon and relegate Cisco to the realm of forever alone. Well, he still has Golden Glider…

4Thea is anti-Darhk matter

Well how about that. Instead of being totally killed by Darhk’s strange magic, Thea instead seems to absorb it and curb her own need to kill someone.

Clearly, it’s an after effect of the Lazarus Pit. But how it plays into the greater scheme of things might be a little more interesting. Does Thea now become a priority target because of the threat she poses to Darhk? And will Macolm al Ghul making constant home visits to Star City, will Darhk turn his attention to the League he lost previously?

5Barry’s dad is back…

“Barry, is it me or is everyone else breaking out into song?”

Speaking of dad’s being back in town, Henry Allen decided to pay the speedless Flash a visit in Central City. Of course, he convinces Barry to be a hero again, The Flash saves the day, and all is well.

Or is it? Surely, Zoom would’ve noticed Henry’s visit to a defunct STAR Labs? Barry may have his speed back but is he a match for Zoom, and even so in the process will his own father become a target?

On the other hand, does anyone else think Henry’s physique is a lot bulkier than Barry’s, similar to a mysterious entity we’ve already witnessed? We’ll explore that in another post, but Henry Allen could yet have an important role to play.
