The next Avengers movie will only start shooting in January 2017, but we’re hearing rumblings about locations, extras, and more importantly, the cast. Directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo have been posting tidbits like the one below as they start work on production:

Then Omega Underground dug out a casting call that more or less confirms that most of the MCU will be involved in Infinity War at some point. It reads a little long, but we’ve bolded the names that you should be paying attention to.

Starring in “Avengers: Infinity War” is BAFTA Award nominee Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin as Thanos, Saturn Award Winner Chris Pratt as Star Lord / Peter Quill, Teen Choice Awards nominee Sebastian Stan as Bucky, four-time Golden Globe Award nominee Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, Academy Award winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, ALMA Award winner Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Empire Award winner Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, two-time Saturn Award nominee Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, BAFTA Awards nominee Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, four-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Vin Diesel as Groot, Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man, British Independent Film Awards nominee Benedict Wong as Wong, Action on Film Award winner Dave Bautista as Drax, BAFTA Film Award nominee Paul Bettany as Vision, Santa Barbara International Film Festival Virtuoso Award winner Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther, three-time Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Hulk, and two-time Academy Award nominee Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man.

Since we know Infinity War will revolve around Thanos and his quest for the Infinity Stones to fill up the spots in his shiny Infinity Gauntlet, we’re not surprised to see that the whole Guardians of the Galaxy gang are back for another round of piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. Also confirmed are all six original Avengers (obviously) and the New Avengers, plus Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and Wong.

But there are two names conspicuously absent from this list: Spider-Man and Loki. Spider-Man: Homecoming is due to be released in Singapore on July 6, 2017, way before Infinity War, so why isn’t Tom Holland on that list? Does something happen to Spider-Man that prevents him from joining the rest of the Avengers?

Similarly, there’s no sign of Tom Hiddleston either. (What, were there so many Chrises in this project that they had to kick the Toms out?)

We already know from the end-credits scene in Doctor Strange (see our review) that Thor visits him in New York City with Loki in tow. Even Hiddleston wants Loki to meet Doctor Strange, so can The Powers That Be please, PLEASE give us a Hiddles vs Cumberbatch showdown in Infinity War???
