We’re still reeling from the events depicted in the rather excellent Star Wars: Rogue One (see our review), but developments for the untitled Han Solo spin-off continue apace.

The latest news is that Woody Harrelson has officially signed up for the spin-off, joining the ranks of Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and Alden Ehrenreich. Glover and Ehrenreich will play the younger versions Lando Calrissian and Han Solo, respectively.

Little is known about the plot of the movie and no one knows anything about the characters that Clarke and Harrelson will play, but this piece of news is making me even more excited than I already was. Harrelson is a veteran who will no doubt bring some of his signature world weariness and badassery to a cast that already looks awesome.

Given that he played mentor to JLaw in The Hunger Games, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up playing the same role to the young Solo. Wonder if he’ll have long, lustrous hair again.

The untitled Han Solo spin-off will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and you can expect that to reach our shores some time in 2018.
