Could X-Men: Dark Phoenix possibly be split into two movies? That might be a distinct possibility, based on Olivia Munn’s comments to Collider.
The 37-year-old, who played Psylocke in the rather disappointing X-Men: Apocalypse (see our review), was asked if she will be in Dark Phoenix:
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to say.“I’m supposed to be vague. That’s my answer. I’m horrible at that. It’s like a two-parter, this movie. That’s more than I’ve said, in general. I don’t know why people have to be so secretive.”
Given the depth and the breadth of “The Dark Phoenix Saga”, which Dark Phoenix is based off, splitting the movie into two may not be such a bad idea. It also suggests that writer/director Simon Kinberg may have bitten off just a little bit more than he can chew.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is scheduled for release on November 2, 2018.
