The Singapore Zombie Walk returns

The dead are rising again – that’s right geeks, the Singapore Zombie Walk is back for a second year! And this time, there will be (more) blood, plus air con, and maybe a bit of shopping too.

After last year’s walk, when 131 walkers (slowly) rampaged through Clarke Quay, we’re creating our very own version of a zombie mall. It’s Dawn of the Dead (the remake) all over again, as the zombie horde takes over The Cathay at 2 Handy Road on Oct 26 at 9pm.

What’s a zombie walk, you may ask? Well, instead of telling you about it, why don’t we just show you what happened at the first Singapore Zombie Walk last year:

The walk kicks off outside The Cathay and will proceed through the mall before ending at The Cathay’s External Atrium. And from 7.30pm, there’ll be prizes (and putrefaction), games (and gore), and music (and mayhem) too, courtesy of our partner The Cathay. Keep watching the Singapore Zombie Walk Facebook page for more details on this.

Besides the undead, the living also need to be fed. That’s why we’re partnering with the Food Bank Singapore this year to help out the needy. Your ‘admission fee’ this year:  at least two cans of food, or two non-perishable items, which will be distributed to the hungry via the Food Bank. Check out this link for a list of items you can donate.

You can sign up for the Singapore Zombie Walk here. Do note that this year’s walk will be capped at 500 participants.

[alert-announce] Here’s the very special aspect of our walk this year: the infection will start in the heartlands. In the afternoon, our head zombie Gillian Ang will lead an elite group of 20 walkers for a mini-walk through Kaki Bukit. It’s your chance (places for this heartlands walk are very limited) to infect the uncles and aunties in the kopitiams before being bussed to The Cathay for the main event. [/alert-announce]

So what are you waiting for? Sign up for the walk NOW. In the meantime, check out our post on what happened at the zombie walk last year.
