Well, this looks like it’s going to be a trip. The newest Mad Max: Fury Road trailer is out, and it looks…wild. Very wild.
It’s the fourth film in the Mad Max franchise, with former Bane Tom Hardy stepping into the role that Mel Gibson made famous. Here’s the movie synopsis according to Comic Book Resources:
The movie follows Mad Max (Hardy) as he becomes involved with a group traveling across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by Furiosa (Theron), an elite Imperator. Pursing them is the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), who brings together all his gangs and pursues the group on a collision course for a Road War.
Now, I haven’t seen any of the original movies, so I don’t know what the hell any of that really means. But going by the trailer, the movie’s going to be a visual treat, at the very least. In simpler terms – it’s the story of a lone hero in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
There are trucks, guns, gangs, bikes, explosions and sand. Lots and lots of sand. Plus non-stop revving of engines. After all, as Max puts it: “My world is fire and blood.”
Oh, and let’s not forget a bald Charlize Theron and a bald, pasty-white Nicholas Hoult badly in need of some lip balm.
