Middle Earth is coming back to Singapore, courtesy of the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra (MFO) and the Vocal Associates Festival Chorus and Children’s Choir.

Come June, you’ll get to watch The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers projected on a giant screen, complete with original dialogue and sound effects, and accompanied by a live orchestra. This follows on from last year’s event, when the MFO screened The Fellowship of the Ring with live music.

The Straits Times is also giving away tickets to the concert:

Given the uneven nature of the two Hobbit movies so far (check out our review of The Desolation of Smaug here), a bit of LOTR nostalgia certainly wouldn’t hurt at this point. I have the DVD box set and the Director’s Cut and whatnot, but we all know it: nothing beats the shared experience of watching a movie with an audience every bit as geeky as you. So go on – you just know you want to watch The Two Towers in Singapore again.
