It’s been an eventful few days for Marvel Studios’ next movie. They released a second Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, followed by a new movie poster, which you can see above. It’s been almost a year since the first footage of the movie leaked from Comic Con, and as the movie’s July release date draws near, we’re getting to see more and more of the movie.

While it also starts off with Starlord’s (Chris Pratt) lame introduction, there’s quite a bit of new footage and backstory as to how the Guardians assembled. “So here we are,” declares Starlord, “A thief, two thugs, an assassin and a maniac. But we’re not going to stand by as evil wipes out the galaxy.”

We get a first glimpse of Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace), while Bradley Cooper utters his first words as the voice of Rocket Raccoon: “Oh, yeah.” Oh, and then there’s the small matter of Groot (Vin Diesel) and those famous three words…No sign of Nebula though, not since the first teaser image of her was released.

Here’s the movie synopsis if you’re unfamiliar with the Guardians, admittedly one of the more obscure superhero teams around:

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel  Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.

To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon,  Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the
Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the  galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be released in Singapore on July 31
