Westward season 2 trailer

Seven months after that MINDBLOWING season 1 finale, we now have a Westworld season 2 trailer, courtesy of the magical place that is San Diego Comic Con.

As ever with Westworld, there is a haunting melody to accompany proceedings, playing out on the ominously bloodstained player piano that was a constant throughout season 1. This time round, it’s Sammy Davis Jr’s “I Gotta Be Me” (so punny, HBO). And after all the blood that’s been spilt last season, it’s clear that that’s not the end of it.

We have a traumatised Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) standing by the river, gazing at a dead tiger. Temperamental artistic director Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman) held at gunpoint (presumably) by Maeve (Thandie Newton) amidst a pile of bodies. And most intriguing of all: Teddy (James Marsden – we still can’t forget his blue eyes after our interview) and Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) on the rampage.

And let’s not forget the bruised and bloodied Man In Black (Ed Harris), who is very much alive – and throws us a knowing grin just as the trailer ends.

Meanwhile, our very own Diana Othman was at the Westward panel in Hall H and caught this lovely moment:
